Washer Toss Box Size & Official Court Dimensions
The common washer toss setup places the two boxes 21 feet apart, measured cup to cup. Here is the layout to scale, with the box size and the center cup that scores you three.
| Regulation distance | 21 ft between cups (most common); some leagues use 25 ft |
|---|---|
| Box size | About 16 in square (outside), 6 to 8 in tall, often with a sloped top |
| Cup | 4 in diameter PVC cup centered in each box (3 points in the cup) |
| Washers | 2.5 in outer washers with a 1 in hole, 2 to 4 per player |
| Players | 2 (singles) or 4 (doubles) |
Twenty-one feet is the everyday standard, but box-and-hole washer kits travel anywhere; just set the same gap each game so scoring stays fair. Shorten it for kids.
