Kubb Pitch Size, Piece Dimensions & Court Layout
A tournament kubb pitch is a rectangle 5 meters wide by 8 meters long, with five baseline kubbs per side and the king dead center. Here is the layout to scale with the corner stakes.
| Pitch size | 5 m (about 16.5 ft) wide by 8 m (about 26 ft) long, marked by four corner stakes |
|---|---|
| Baseline kubbs | 5 per side, stood upright on each baseline and spaced about evenly apart |
| King | One larger block stood upright in the exact center of the pitch |
| Batons | 6 throwing batons; throws are underhand, end over end |
| Players | 2 to 12, split into 2 teams |
Eight meters by five is the tournament pitch, but kubb is forgiving. On a smaller lawn, shrink the rectangle to fit and keep the baselines parallel; the game plays the same.
